# USLedger.org: every promise in full > What the US President, senior officials and the party leaders in Congress promise, filed under the 20 promises of the 2024 Republican Platform: the exact words, the deadline, the cost, and a timeline that moves only on evidence. 52 promise cards (9 promised, 6 in plan, 1 legislated, 3 funded, 18 delivering, 6 delivered, 4 not met, 5 unscoreable), as Markdown, newest promise first. Built on 23 October 2026 from the same data as the site. Each card is also a web page at https://usledger.org/promise/ and a Markdown file at https://usledger.org/promise/.md. A shorter guide: https://usledger.org/llms.txt. ## How a card works - One published standard for every party: no rule, label or code path treats one party differently. - The quote is the speaker's exact words, copied from the source and checked word for word. The headline is our neutral summary of it. - Status ladder: Promised → In plan → Legislated → Funded → Delivering → Delivered. A status changes only on evidence: every timeline entry after the promise itself links to its evidence. - A cost is a low–high range with a central figure, a quality label and its sources; a single figure becomes a range with a stated editorial margin. - History is append-only: a rewording adds a new version, and a fix to our own mistake is a dated, public correction with the old and new value. - Every card needs the approval of one editor before it is published. No editor approves a card about their own party. ## Licences USLedger.org's own writing (headlines, notes, summaries) is licensed under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/): reuse it, crediting USLedger.org with a link to the card. Space Force agreements with 12 companies, worth up to $3.2 billion, are to show a space-based interceptor "by 2028"; nothing official says the whole system will be in operation by 20 January 2029. The 2027 budget asks for $18 billion more, not yet appropriated. CBO estimated on 12 May 2026 that a system with the capabilities the January 2025 order describes would cost about $1.2 trillion to develop, deploy and operate for 20 years; the War Department has published no total cost or design. ### What has happened - 20 May 2025, Promised: The President announces a chosen Golden Dome design, says it should be fully operational before the end of his term, in about three years, and puts its completed cost at about $175 billion - 24 May 2025, Restated: At the West Point commencement, the President says the Golden Dome will be completed before he leaves office ([evidence](https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/DCPD-202500639/html/DCPD-202500639.htm)) - 4 July 2025, Funded: Public Law 119-21 appropriates $24.4 billion for air and missile defense (section 20003), including $5.6 billion for space-based and boost-phase interceptors and $7.2 billion for space-based sensors, available until 30 September 2029 ([evidence](https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/PLAW-119publ21/html/PLAW-119publ21.htm)) - 18 December 2025, Legislated: The 2026 defense authorization law, Public Law 119-60, requires a yearly report to Congress with a cost estimate and a schedule for the Golden Dome's initial and full operational capability (section 1652) ([evidence](https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/PLAW-119publ60/html/PLAW-119publ60.htm)) - 21 April 2026, In plan: The 2027 budget request includes $18 billion "to begin operationalizing" the Golden Dome ([evidence](https://www.war.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/4466038/department-of-war-releases-the-presidents-fiscal-year-2027-budget/)) - 24 April 2026, Delivering: Space Systems Command reports 20 agreements with 12 companies, worth up to $3.2 billion, for space-based interceptors to be shown working in the Golden Dome by 2028 ([evidence](https://www.ssc.spaceforce.mil/Newsroom/Article-Display/Article/4470337/space-forces-space-based-interceptor-program-to-counter-growing-speed-and-maneu)) - 20 January 2029, Deadline (to come): The end of the President's term ### About the cost The President's figure for the completed system, said in the same remarks ("$175 billion total cost of this, when it's completed"). Low–high is an editorial ±10% because he gave a single figure. CBO's estimate of about $1.2 trillion over 20 years covers a notional system and its operation, so it is not the same measure.
